Very quiet and nice view into the Central Park. If you have dogs or kid, this is a nice place to crash. They used to have kids programs during weekdays before Covid, hope they can bring those back soon
My favourite library in the south bay. Great collection of books, well laid out with clearly demarcated sections by age and type. They also consistently host a lot of events including the monthly book sale every third Saturday of the month - it's all-you-can-get in a grocery bag for five bucks. The space they have on the top floor is a reader's paradise - with leather armchairs and ottomans, side tables with a reading lamp, a warm fireplace and all of this overlooking the greenery of the adjacent Central park. The Library has tall ceilings and large windows at many places which makes it feel very open. Library membership is free and allows you free access to numerous museums in the county as well. Loads of parking available - both outdoors and on the basement level.
The Santa Clara Central Park Library is amazing,a very beautiful library, awesome genealogy section and huge maps of Santa Clara County. I was absolutely amazed and took many pictures. It was my first time! Thank you so much for keeping this beautiful blessed library for All to enjoy!! Thank you for your hospitality Danny!
This is the library which is the closest to my house. Unfortunately, there is homeless live next to the entrance.
One time I went to return the books but library is closed. There are no people around, which made me feel really unsafe.
Check the operating hours before you go. Don’t come when it’s closed. You wouldn’t want to have an unexpected encounter.
It’s been so many years. Too bad they didn’t do anything about it.
Love this library so much! Two floors, overlooking the park with beautiful big windows. Tons of natural light. Nice sculptures. Huge selection of books, short hold wait times. Recently moved the video game selection from behind the desk out where you can view them (still need to pickup the disk from the desk which is more than reasonable). Upstairs will sometimes have puzzle out for people to try. Great angled tables for drawing. Tons of computers. Many quiet places to sit and read. They even had a complimentary gift wrapping station during the holidays!
Very sweet and friendly library staff including security during the pandemic.
Really clean and comfortable place with a lot of natural light to study and read. Quiet study is my favorite area to work.
There are a lot of events for kids and I also heard in broadcast that they have some “dancing event” :)
Only thing I want to complain is that the Wifi is not stable sometimes.
Love this library. Lot of reading space and quality books. The administration does a great job maintaining the decorum.
The only issue is the working hours. Many days this library closes at 2PM especially on weekends and is also closed on Sunday. May be they can do something to keep it open for more hours.
I will compare this library with Milpitas library to show you why I gave only 4 stars to it.
1. Hours: Milpitas library offers 7 days when this library offers only 6. Milpitas library also offers longer hours on each day. For example, this library closed at 2pm on both Friday and Saturday.
2. Quietness: Milpitas library is much quiet than this one. There were lots of noises in this place (at least today). People talked loudly, kids were running around, and you can even hear baby was crying.
So, go to Milpitas library if you live on north side of Santa Clara city.
